The basic deficiency in the numbers of, Mozambique’s casinos is in 1 sense rather questionable, in one way or another.
In past times, the city was a spot where many South Africans would vacation to detach themselves from the extremely restricted rules on gaming (and, it has to be said, mixing with other races) that they had at home. So, you can expect a picture of a developing spot to accommodate that tourist business.
At the same time, perhaps it is not particularly a surprise. The region is certainly the most bankrupt over the world, having gone through a frightening civil war (followed by shattering floods) from which it is still, very slowly, recovering. This might make a location less of a vacation location, despite the fact that there is today a inviting view along a few of the country’s outstanding beaches.
It is in addition legitimate that regionally somewhat, casinos in Mozambique have had to compete with others in the newly liberalized South Africa, which includes the recognized Sun City founded by the Kerzner family corporation.
Here is a list of Casinos in Mozambique:
Maputo: Polana Casino Hotel
There are seventy eight slot machines and video poker games, five tables of American roulette, four blackjack tables, and one poker table.
Namaacha: Sol Libombos Hotel Casino
There are forty slot machines, American roulette, and also two tables for poker and punto banco.
It is thought that over time the complete tourism business in Mozambique will grow adequately. While the local languages are, of course, African, there is in addition the fraction of Portuguese from the old colonial power and the innovative and increasing origin of English, both from South Africa and as part of the worldwide phenomenon. The country is particularly cheap (obviously, as it is extremely poor) and as above, has some of the most beautiful beaches world wide, fronting onto the Indian Ocean. Those are the combination of elements that make tourism agents drool, and as the country ascends out of its existent slump, it is likely that not only will tourism develop, but that the list of Mozambique’s casinos will grow longer as well.
While the country is not expected to ever recapture its character as a spot for partying South Africans, as there are now other alternatives closer to home for them to oblige in, the development of a long distance tourism sector is being planned. This would be to accommodate Europeans wanting winter sun, as a retreat from the gloominess of the Northern Hemisphere winter. Plus, clearly, the best prawns (shrimp) around the world derive from just offshore, in the Mozambique Channel.
